MORE THAN A BRAND
THE BADASS FISH
Auckland, New Zealand February 14, 2000.

Maybe it was also Valentine's Day like every year.
In stories, a detail can often make the difference.
Everything begins on a certain day.
It was the night before the official presentation of the Italian boat that would participate in the oldest and most important sailing challenge in the world.
The Team's patron asked me for a design to reproduce on the still-hidden bulb that would embody the values and spirit of that young, unknown, but fierce and determined crew
Those men who had been preparing for months, if not years, needed a symbol in which to recognize themselves.
So, I drew what a nearby New Zealander would later call: "The badass fish."
It became our symbol and, above all, our mascot. In the years that followed, it was reproduced on bulbs, wings, bows, helmets, shirts, and more.
Sometimes, one finds himselves in a drawing. If I had to translate its meaning, I would define it as "a tough guy."
That adventure was immense, and this one perhaps begins now with each one of you.

Professional sailor with experience in three editions of the America's Cup (2000, 2003, 2007), I have sailed and lived unique moments with many teams. Today I continue to race in the main international circuits, carrying forward the values that I want to convey with the Badass&Co brand: determination, humility, tenacity and loyalty.
The brand logo, derived from the drawing created in 2000 to inspire our team, has become the symbol of a broader vision. I would like it to be an ambassador of positive values, capable of going beyond the world of sailing and inspiring anyone to pursue their goals with passion and commitment.
